Organized by Bill Brown-FCFI Region 8 Area Leader

We are organizing a mission trip to Spruce Pine, North Carolina, and we’d love for you to join us in serving a community still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Helene. With updated information and final details confirmed, we’re moving forward with plans and are excited to see how God will use this time of service and fellowship.
Trip Dates & Travel Plans
Mission Week: September 14–20, 2025
Departure from New York: Saturday, September 13
- We’ll depart from Redeeming Love Fellowship Church (Stittville, NY) at 7:00 AM.
- Our group will stay overnight at Ridgeway Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, VA, who have graciously offered us their hospitality.
- We’ll then travel approximately 300 miles to Spruce Pine on Sunday.
Coming from another location?
Please plan to arrive in Spruce Pine on Sunday, September 14. A light lunch will be provided that evening as we welcome everyone and get settled.
Lodging & Meals
During our recent visit to Spruce Pine, we confirmed that accommodations and meal arrangements are well-prepared. Volunteers will have access to comfortable lodging, showers, and three meals per day, all provided by Baptists on Mission, our partner organization for this trip.
Cost & Assistance
Participation Cost: $20 per person per day
This fee covers meals, lodging, and facilities. Some additional funds will be needed for meals during travel.
Financial Concerns?
We have limited assistance available for those who may need help covering costs. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
What We’ll Be Doing
While our specific tasks will depend on ongoing needs, the expected projects include:
- Finishing the interiors of homes
- Chainsaw work and general cleanup
- Potential new construction efforts
No experience required—there’s work for everyone!
How to Join
We ask all interested volunteers to confirm participation by mid-August to allow adequate time for planning and paperwork.
Once we hear from you, we’ll send all necessary forms and details, including required release forms for Baptists on Mission.
Why It Matters
This mission trip is a chance to serve those who have faced immense challenges, offering not just practical help but also encouragement and hope. Whether you’re swinging a hammer or offering a warm smile, your presence makes a difference.
We hope you’ll prayerfully consider joining us on this meaningful journey.
